National Parks Baseball Resort: The Reality

The development team behind the National Parks Baseball Resort recently hosted a community meeting in Tetonia. This project advertises the construction of 18 baseball diamonds, an RV park, lodges, and a soccer field off of HWY 33 (including two stoplights). At full build-out, capacity for over 1,700 people is what the applicant hopes for at their resort.

Beyond the impacts that this development would have on Teton Valley's infrastructure and character, our community is highly concerned with the pace at which this developer is moving—all while ignoring a comprehensive planning process Tetonia is currently working through with the community. 

According to the applicant's website, Phase 1 is scheduled to be completed by June 2027—a mere 8 months away!  But, no secret to locals, that timeline is far from realistic. Our team confirmed the reality with Tetonia staff:

1. Before this proposed development could begin construction the parcel would need to be annexed into city limits. That requires a rigorous review process with Tetonia's Planning and Zoning Commission and City Council. We will be at every meeting!
2. Any annexed parcel would then be required to be formally incorporated into the Pinnacle Peak Master Plan (if their development team still seeks to partner with the baseball folks at that point).
3. As of now, there have been no approvals from the City of Tetonia for the National Parks Baseball Resort.
