Circle K & Marriott Hotel: Fact or Fiction?

Projects in Downtown Driggs: Circle K and Marriott Hotel

The City of Driggs' Design Review Advisory Committee (DRAC) has recently been working on applications that seek to bring a Marriott Element hotel and Circle K to downtown Driggs. The project location for these two developments is adjacent to Broulims off of HWY 33. We have reached out to city staff to get the latest updates and background on these applications.

As of September, the Circle K development team has submitted their final design review application. As this project falls within the Design Review Overlay, a recommendation will be made by DRAC before it is sent to the Planning and Zoning Commission for a final decision. As for the Element hotel, this project has ties to an approval from 2021. Since going through that initial design review process, the application requires an additional review by Public Works to finalize technical edits before construction approval. What We're Watching

Grand Targhee Expansion Meeting:

Today, September 24th, the Forest Service hosted an objection resolution meeting. This hearing gave previous objectors to the Grand Targhee expansion an opportunity to propose specific resolutions to their objections. We attended the meeting and requested remedies that align with the resolutions outlined in our objection letter and now wait for a response from the Forest Service.

Thank you to everyone who spoke today! It was powerful to hear how much our community cares and is willing to work together for a better outcome. We will keep you all updated as this process continues.

Smallwood Event Barn:

The hearing for the Smallwood Event Barn SUP has been officially scheduled. The new hearing date is October 13th at 10:00am. This application will be heard by Teton County's Board of Commissioners. 

SPEAK UP! Teton County LDC Amendment - Residential 2.5 Zone:

The public hearing for an LDC amendment that aims to create a new zoning type will be heard by the Board of County Commissioners on the 28th at 10:00am. This new zone—R 2.5—would create residential areas with a density of 1 lot per 2.5 acres where it is now 1 lot per 5 acres, thus doubling the currently allowed density. Do you live in an RN 5 zone and didn't know this was coming?! Please help us spread the word to our neighbors.
